  • 1. Dravo Lime Co., Pittsburgh, PA

Description

This chapter extends the technology that was specifically developed to resolve the slurry waste disposal problem resulting from the use of lime or limestone reagents in flue gas desulfurization (FGD). This technology involves the use Dravo's Calcilox additive. Secondly, the discussion will describe the application of this technology to solve the problems of disposing of other inorganic slurry wastes. Overall, this chapter will summarize the development of Calcilox, briefly define stabilization and, most importantly, discuss the method used in appling this technique to various inorganic wastes
