Observation of direct 12C transfer in the 12C(14N,d)24Mg reaction

Description
The d-α angular correlation has been measured for the reaction 12C(14N, d)24Mgsup(*)(α)20Nesub(g.st). It was found that the correlation function corresponding to the 24Mgsup(*) nucleus α-decay from the 13.45 MeV(6+) state is well fitted by a squared Legendre polynomial of the sixth order. It means that this level is populated by a direct 12C nucleus transfer. (orig.)
