Nuclear energy in Lithuania. The main factors determining its present and future
Description
Brief overview of the factors influencing current status of nuclear power development and the future in Lithuania is presented. Among these environmental aspects, energy demand, financial capabilities and international climate are of great importance. Particular the last one is crucial, Lithuania is facing strong pressure from countries of European Union, G-24 group to shutdown both units of Ignalina NPP despite great achievements in its safety upgrading
