Stark broadening parameters and transition probabilities in the O II spectrum

  • 1. Belgrade Univ. (Yugoslavia). Faculty of Physics

Description

Stark widths and shifts of nine singly ionized oxygen (O II) spectra lines, belonging to three types of transitions (3s-3p, 3p-3d and 3p'-3d'), have been measured at electron temperatures between 12 000 K and 20 500 K and electron densities between 0.76.1023 m-3 and 1.82.1023 m-3 using a linear low pressure pulsed arc, as an optically thin plasma source, operated in CO2. Measured Stark broadening parameters have been compared to the existing experimental and theoretical data. We have controlled existing transition probabilities for twelve O II lines relying upon a relative line intensity ratio (RLIR) method and we have found that nine of them need correction. (orig.)
