Normal mode analysis of laser beam propagation in a plasma waveguide
Creators

Description
Normal mode theory is used to derive the familiar oscillating Gaussian solution for a laser beam in a plasma waveguide with a quadratic index of refaction. Perturbation theory is then used to derive the unstable solution in a plasma in which the quadratic index varies sinusoidally along the axis
