Effect of stellar luminosity and temperature calibration on determination of initial mass function
Description
The initial mass function for association Orion OB was made up from data obtained by uvbyβ-photometry and MK spectral classification. B-type stars were chosen for analysis. A comparison was made of luminosity and effective temperature of stars obtained using both methods. It was found that small differences in calibration of uvbyβ-photometry and MK spectral classification lead to significant differences in the mass of B-type stars. (E.S.)
