Description

Studies aimed at personnel dosimetry of civil aviation aircrew members were initiated in the Czech Republic in 1998. The paper gives an overview of the results obtained during the period of 1998-2000. The dosimetric measurements were carried out for the companies CSA, Fischer Air, and Travel Service, which wish to comply with the requirements of the relevant Czech legislation. The average exposure level, expressed in terms of the annual effective dose, was found to lie within the range of 1.5 to 2 mSv, which is more than as observed for many other professions exposed to ionizing radiation.
