Creators
- 1. National Inspectorate for Radiation and Nuclear Safety, Warsaw (Poland)
Description
The development of the nuclear power program in Poland gave rise to an updating of earlier laws and regulations concerning peaceful uses of nuclear energy. The experiences accumulated during this process are summarized here. Relevant legislation is outlined and the organizations to which it applies are described, together with their prerogatives and responsibilities. Special attention is paid to the regulatory body structure and to the regulatory activities. Regulatory practices are discussed in a more detailed way quoting the examples from the experience with the first two NPPs being licensed in Poland. (orig.)
