The Calculation of Co Pressures in Oxide Coated Particle Fuel by the Molybdate Model
Description
A summary of approaches to explain the CO pressure build-up in coated fuel particles is given in the first section. In the second section an approach is given to explain the CO pressures and their dependence on determination temperature by calculation of the equilibrium concentration of a condensed phase consisting of Sr MoO4 and Ba MoO4 and the resulting oxygen potential. The value of the latter then determines the CO pressure in the particle. The validity of the model is demonstrated by a calculation done on seven different particle types and experiments. (author)
