On the introduction of bioconversion factors in the risk characterization for the environment

Description
The quick and reliable evaluation of the distribution of pollutants in ecosystems might be simplified by the use of bioconversion factors (ratio of the pollutant concentration in another plant). Data are presented about the bioconversion factors of Ca, Cd, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sr, and Zn between Taraxacum officinale and ten other plant species collected in sites and parks with different degree of anthropogenic influence. Analysis has been done by using Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis, Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometry and Inductively Coupled Plasma - Atomic Emission Spectrometry
