Description

The color dependence of chiral symmetry breaking is examined. We compute the ratio of the mass of the ω-meson made of quarks in the 6, to the mass of that for quarks in the 3 of SU(3)sub(c). The computation is performed on the lattice using strong coupling expansion to fourth order, the result is extrapolated to the weak coupling region using the diagonal P(1, 1) Pade approximants. The ratio is found to be 1.0 approx.= 1.4. The mass ratio for the ordinary nucleon to the ω-meson is also computed in the case when the 6 sector appears in the intermediate states, this is estimated to be 1.9 approx.= 2.3. No strong color dependence for chiral symmetry breaking is found. (orig.)
