Potentialities of densitometric analysis of roentgenograms in the diagnosis of diseases of the paranasal sinuses

A densitometric analysis of roentgenograms performed on the basis of those automated system of X-ray image analysis, permitted the detection of characteristic densitometric signs of curves of intact paranasal sinuses as well as signs of pathological changes in the lumen of the sinuses and their osseous walls. The densitometric analysis made it possible to objectivize the nature of pathological changes and to get additional information without increasing radiation exposure of a patient, facilitating differential diagnosis of diseases
