Fundamentals of magnetic measurements with illustration from Fermilab experience

Creators

  • 1. Fermi National Accelerator Lab., Batavia, IL

Description

Techniques for measurement of magnets used in accelerators and beams are discussed with emphasis on principles and limitations of the various techniques. Selection of parameters to measure, mechanical, electronic and data collection issues is discussed. Illustrations are primarily selected from the experience in measuring more than 1200 superconducting and more than 600 conventional magnets for the Tevatron at Fermilab
