Properties of the T15K6 alloy prepared on the basis of a tungsten powder

Description

The properties of the T15K6 alloy whose preparation involved supplying hydrogen as the WO3-filled cups were progressing, have been studied, and compared to those of the commercial alloy. To determine the conditions for moulding, the relative density of the samples was studied as a function of moulding pressure. The dependence of the alloy properties on sintering temperature (1470-1500 deg C) was also investigated. The best quality alloy was prepared from tungsten of initial grain size of 1 mcm. The strength of both alloys was about the same. Optimum conditions for preparation of the alloy are recommended
