Description
Highlights: ► A new compound with the formula Pb2InV3O11 has been obtained as a result of a solid-state reaction. ► Thermal properties of Pb2InV3O11 has been established. ► The SEM images of new phase are presented. ► Phase equilibria in the Pb2V2O7–InVO4 system have been investigated. ► A phase diagram has been constructed based on DTA and XRD results. - Abstract: Pb2V2O7 and InVO4 have been shown to react in solid phase, forming at the 1:1 M ratio a new compound of the formula Pb2InV3O11. This compound undergoes incongruent melting at 800 ± 5 °C with deposition of two solid phases In2O3 and InVO4. Pb2InV3O11 crystallises in the monoclinic system and the elementary cell parameters are a = 1.0423(8) nm, b = 1.2540(1) nm, c = 1.0306(6) nm, γ = 86.9°, Z = 4. The phase equilibria were established in the nitrogen atmosphere in the Pb2V2O7–InVO4 system over the whole components concentration range up to 1150 °C.
