On the importance of chemical factors on the drawability of doped tungsten wires
Description
A number of tests have been carried out in order to explain the differing degrees of workability of drawn tungsten wires a) undoped, b) KAl-doped, c) KSi-doped and d) KSiAl (and KSiGa)-doped. These are due neither to oxide particles nor to the presence of fine glass-deposits on the fibre surfaces. They are the result of 'changeable' oxygen atoms combined with silicon atoms, which allow a mutual shifting within the fibres. (Auth.)
