Radiochemical method for the determination of 228Th in bone
Creators
Description
A radiochemical method has been developed for the determination of 228Th in bone. The limit of detection at the 95 percent confidence level is about 5 fCi when a 24-hr counting period is used. The method can be used to establish the level of 228Ra in bone, provided that the 228Ra and 228Th are known to be in transient equilibrium. With minor modifications the method could be used to establish whether or not these nuclides are in equilibrium or to determine 228Ra unequivocally
