Shielding current suppression by transport current in HTS ceramic
- 1. Gosudarstvennyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Ehnergeticheskij Inst., Moscow (USSR)
Description
A possibility of applying superconducting shields of HTS ceramic as magnetic flux commutators in electrical engineering is considered. To switch such shield, a mechanism of shielding current suppression by transmitting transport current destroying intergranular weak bands is proposed. It is experimentally ascertained that shielding currents induced by variable magnetic field, disappear under a certain value of transport current. It is shown that shielding suppression is not connected with heating and transition to normal state because Meissner effect is preserved in granules. Switching process oscillation patterns, confirming its fast operation are presented
