Subcoulomb fission induced by Xe and Kr ions
Creators

Description
Excitation functions have been measured for fission of 232Th and 238Th induced by 86Kr and 136Xe beams at energies around the Coulomb barrier. Fission events were detected in coincidence with the back-scattered projectiles. The results suggest that Coulomb fission is occurrring in the Xe+U reaction. (Auth.)
