Aseismic qualification of electrical equipment for nuclear power plants
Description
The design of nuclear power plant electrical equipment departs from that of conventional equipment in three basic respects, one of which is the requirement for aseismic design. In a previous article (Mitsubishi Denki Giho Vol. 48, No. 3 1974 p. 351), the aseismic design of the principal electrical equipment for nuclear power plants was discussed. The present article presents the basic methodology for confirming aseismicity, and the present state of such techniques. Comparison of aseismic test results, and actual aseismic performance data is also included. (author)
