Description
Objective: To study the relation between the changes of serum levels of SOD, IGF-II, TNF-α, cytokins IL-5, IL-6, IL-8 and the development of bronchial pneumonia in children. Methods: The serum levels of SOD, IGF-II, TNF-α, IL-5, IL- 6 and IL-8 were measured with RIA in 34 children with bronchial pneumonia and 32 controls. Results: The levels of SOD, IGF-II, TNF-α were significantly higher in the patients than those in controls (P<0.01). The level of' IL-5 (P < 0.05 ) and IL-6, IL-8 (P<0.01) were also significantly higher in the patients. Conclusion: The above examined factors played important role in the development and pathogenesis of bronchial pneumonia in children. (authors)
