Extraction of dithiocarboxylates of platinum metals in analytical chemistry

  • 1. Latvijskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Riga (USSR)

Description

Extraction of dithiocarboxylates of Ru(3) and other platinum metals is studied, preparation conditions and optical properties of the complexes formed being considered. Effect of the nature of ligand on the rate of complex formation is ascertained. Data on Ru(3) complex extraction degree by organic solvents (chloroform, nitromethane, etc.) in the presence of hydrophobic cations are presented. It is shown that polar solvents possess a higher extraction ability towards Ru complexes. A mixture (3:7) of isopentanol and chloroform and a mixture (1:1) of isbutanol and nitromethane possess the best extraction ability. Data on Ru spectrophotometric determination are given. 3 refs.; 2 tabs
