Passive differentiating track detector for the measurement of exposure and equilibrium between radon and its progeny in the ambient air

  • 1. Inst. of Occupational Medicine, Lodz, Poland

Description

The results of investigation of the passive track detector designed to measure exposure to radon decay products (RnDP) as well as to determine equilibrium between radon (Rn) and RnDP in the ambient air is presented. The results show that the passive differentiating track detector does not give precise information on Rn: RnDP equilibrium which exists during the exposure time. The use of two detection fields with a diffusive barrier against RnDP does not ensure a better assessment of the disequilibrium
