Description

Highlights: • Well-defined gold nanowires (GNWs) with uniform ends were electrodeposited. • The length of GNWs was controlled to be as same as the template thickness. • Three dimensional gold nanoelectrodes (3D GNEs) were developed by template etching. • The 3D GNEs showed enhanced sensitivity compared with the unetched counterpart.
