A model for the run of the horizontal and vertical velocities in the deep photosphere

Description

The authors found a correlation between the intensity and velocity fields in the deeper photosphere, but not in the middle and upper photosphere. Therefore, the atmosphere in its vertical extension is not homogeneous from the dynamical point of view. In this investigation the authors tried to find out the extension up to which the velocity field is correlated with the intensity field, i.e. up to which height in the photosphere the overshoot can be observed. Therefore, they investigated the dynamics of the lower photosphere by determining the variation of the horizontal and vertical small-scale velocities with height in the atmosphere
