Selfconsistency and backbending in rare earth nuclei

Description
Band mixing calculations are performed for the nucleus 166Yb using angular momentum and particle number projected Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov wave functions. The calculated spectrum for the yrast band is compared with that obtained from a non-selfconsistent Nilsson + BCS prescription. (Auth.)
