Superhigh-frequency deflector-shaper for short electron bunches

Description

A resonator-deflector by means of which an accelerated electron beam bunched in short bunches is shaped in a sequence of beam current pulses with regulated duration and nano- and picosecond frequency is described. The resonator consists of a case, waveguide section with flanges, movable tuning piston, copper flange 1 mm hick, in which joint hole is made. The flange is chucked between two waveguide flanges and has indium seals on both sides. The joint element is removable, and this simplifies the resonator tuning. The resonator can be retuned in the frequency range of 2690 MHz-2890 MHz by a throttle piston
