A correlation suggested between the delta13C(CO2) and delta18O(H2O) isotopic data of CO2-rich mineral waters
Description
An analysis of the data obtained in the course of a carbon isotope investigation of CO2-rich cold mineral waters in the Carpathian Basin has shown a positive correlation between the delta13C(CO2) and delta18O(CO2) values. Since the latter ones may be considered to present the oxygen isotope ratio of the mineral waters in question, it is suggested that a correlation may exist in some areas between the isotopic composition of the carbon dioxide's carbon and that of the respective mineral water's oxygen. A correlation of this type seems to be proved by some data measured in Japan. (author)
