Description
This article briefly discusses the design of randomized trials of radiotherapy in relation to therapeutic gain and toxic side effects. The two types of trials considered are two-arm trials comparing radiation plus drugs with radiotherapy alone and three-arm trials comparing combined modality therapy with chemotherapy alone. (U.K.)
