Observation of minor atmospheric species content and radiation

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow (Russian Federation). Inst. Fiziki Atmosfery

Description

Since 1979 observations of atmospheric minor species are carried out at the scientific station Kislovodsk of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics situated in a distant from pollution sources area of the North Caucasus at the altitude 2070 m above sea level. The results of the long-term measurements of the total content and the vertical distribution of ozone and NO2 as well as of the surface ozone concentration, UV radiation and the degree of polarization of the scattered solar radiation are presented. Some aspects of their long-term changes, seasonal and daily variations are highlighted. It is shown that variations of the minor species content are causes by the local, mesoscale and global dynamic processes which are specific for this observational site. 28 refs.; 11 figs.; 1 tab
