Copper quantitative determination in soils and rocks by the spectrophotometric method
Description
Soil samples were collected and processed according to recommended techniques. A copper standard solution was prepared. Qualitative and quantitative analyses of copper were carried out by paper chromatography, choosing rubeanic acid as the most adequate developer solution, and by spectrophotometry, respectively. The results showed a variation from 3.6 ppm to 22.2 ppm of copper in the soils analysed. (C.L.B.)

Foram coletadas e processadas, amostras de solos, segundo tecnicas recentementes recomendadas na literatura. Solucoes padroes de cobre foram preparadas em laboratorio. A analise qualitativa do cobre foi feita por cromatografia em papel utilizando-se n-butanol em acido cloridrico 4N como fase movel; dentre os reveladores testados, o acido rubeanico apresentou maior sensibilidade. As analises quantitativas, por espectrofotometria a 435 nm, mostraram uma variacao de 3,6 a 22,2 ppm de Cu nas amostras analisadas. (C.L.B.)Additional details
