Domain wall surface pinning in epitaxial ferrite-garnet films
Description
The process of quasistatistical shift of domain boundaries (DB) in weak magnetic fields in epitaxial ferrite-garnet films (EFGF) is studied. Investigations are performed using magnetooptical Faraday effect by means of domain boundary oscillations in variable magnetic field and by recording minor shifts in the constant field. Artificial pinning of EFGF DB on the film-air surface by fields of scattering from a thin layer of MnBi applied to EFGF with different magnetization state, is conducted. An assumption concerning DB pinning in EFGF on the transitional film-substrate layer, is experimentally confirmed. The effect of transitional layer characteristics on the EFGF coercive force value is discussed
