Use of double collector for high-precision isotope ratio measurements in geochronology

Description

A double collector mass spectrometer system is described for the high precision 87Sr/86Sr isotopic measurements necessary in geochronology. Results are shown of a digital scan of the Sr spectrum of calibration standard NBS SRM 987. Sr isotope ratios are shown of an 8-scan run used for single collector versus double collector evaluations in the same scan. (U.K.)
