RI imaging of the diseases in the oral cavity

  • 1. Kyoto Univ. (Japan). Faculty of Medicine

Description

Scintigraphy of the bone, salivary gland, and tumor was studied mainly using sup(99m)Tc and 67Ga. It was shown that bone-scintigraphy was of value for early diagnosis of bone metastases of tumors and diagnosis of osteitis, and also for follow-up observation of the lesions, effect of treatment, and bone metabolism. The scintigraphy of the salivary gland was useful for studying the function of the salivary gland. In the scintigraphy of the tumor, SP-ECT was excellent for imaging confined lesions, and sup(99m)Tc-BLM had higher specificity than 67Ga. (Ueda, J.)
