Description
The transient forced convection heat transfer resulting from an impulsively started and heated Falkner-Skan flow is studied. The thermal boundary-layer is produced by the sudden increase of the surface temperature or the sudden increase of the surface heat flux at the same time as the flow is set impulsively into motion from rest. Analytical solutions for the simultaneous development of the momentum and thermal boundary layers are obtained for both small and large times and these solutions are then matched numerically.
