Description
We systematically derive the bosonized form of the chiral two-dimensional QCD Lagrangian exhibiting explicitly the anomalous breaking of gauge invariance, and quantize it using Dirac's algorithm for constrained systems. As a side product we also discuss the Hamiltonian formalism for the principal σ model and derive the commutation relations of the chiral currents in both models
