Description
We have studied the properties of the polarization P and of the spin-rotation parameter Q in the case of elastic proton-nucleus scattering at intermediate energies. In particular we have focused our attention on the possibility of using measurements of P and Q at low momentum transfer (below 2 fm-1) to extract information on the ratio of the imaginary to the real part of the spin-dependent nucleon-nucleon amplitude.
