Description

In the recent years platelet scintigraphy with Indium 111 labeled autologous platelets has been used in the detection of artherosclerotic lesions in extracranial feeding vessels. The aim of this study was to determine the reliability of the platelet scintigraphy with different gamma radiator, Tc-99 m-phytate, in the detection of artherosclerotic lesions, using a large collective of patients with cerebrovascular diseases as test group. Tc-99 m-phytate has the advantage of having a lower radiation load than indium-111 and is also not as expensive. (author). 15 refs
