Beim Zweipartikelsystem, das in Brennelementen für Einkreis- und Zweikreisanlagen Verwendung finden soll, soll das derzeitige Referenz-Abbrandpartikel mit geschmolzenem UC2-Kern und TRISO-Beschichtung langfristig durch ein Abbrandpartikel mit Uranoxidkarbidkern (U-C-O-Kern) und TRISO-Beschichtung abgelöst werden. Aus der Kenntnis der wichtigsten chemischen Schadensmechanismen für hochdichte UC2- und UO2-Kerne, nämlich Amöbeneffekt und SiC-Korrosion, wurde geschlossen, daß der optimale Abbrandkern eine homogene Mischung aus Uranoxid und Urancarbid sein wird.Files
