Description
The temporary canal facility for used fuel storage installation (KH-IPSB3) consists of cooling ponds and canals. Cooling water for ponds and canals is operated to maintain water quality for storage of used fuel and for transferring irradiated materials. The limits of normal operating conditions The Purification System at the KHIPSB3 facility functions to filter out impurities and contaminant ions such as Cesium in water pools to reduce conductivity. The operation of the water purification system can be operated by programmable logic control, namely the touch screen system for the human machine interface. The working principle used from this purification system is that a substance dissolved in pool water will be filtered with a pre-filter and a cartridge filter. The ions are captured by a cesium ion exchange column filter and a mixture of bed filters as raw materials for resin, thereby reducing conductivity and water activity. During operation activities in 2020, the conductivity data obtained by the water purification system from pool-to-pool mode the average input is 2.63 μS/cm and the average output of the purification system is 1.90 μS/cm, for the system mode from channel to channel the average conductivity is 2.73 μS/cm and the output is 1.86 μS/cm, which means that the resin mixture column shows that the resin is still based on function/work with and return pool water to the pond there is still a difference with the purification of water from canal to canal.
