Description
The river network divides the European continent into the catchment of the oceans, seas, and basins of the most important streams. The territory of Slovakia is situated in the second largest European basin - that of the Danube. The accompanying graphs illustrate the typical runoff regimes for the individual European regions. The graphs represent the division of the water amount in the individual months of the year (rivers: Odra, Temze, Massa, North Dvina, Arno, Volga, Danube). The share of the mean monthly discharge in the long-term discharge expresses the amount of water. Some hydrological characteristics of the selected European rivers are presented. (authors)
