Description
33 springs from the Harz Mountains with special emphasis on the Upper Harz were studied concerning radon. The results of these measurements show clear relations between radon concentration and geology at the spring site. The highest concentration were measured in the granitic areas (Brockengranit, Rammelsberg). The Hubertusbrunnen in the town Thale has the highest radon concentration from all investigated springs of about 1000 Bq/l. The radium concentration of 32,0±2,1 Bq/l 226Ra of one inflow to this well is one of the highest known radium concentrations in natural springs in Germany. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
An 33 Quellen aus dem Harz mit Schwerpunkt im Bereich des Oberharzes wurden Radonuntersuchungen durchgefuehrt. Die Auswertung dieser Messungen zeigt klare Beziehungen zwischen dem geologischen Untergrund und den Radonkonzentrationen. Die hoechsten Konzentrationen wurden in den Granitgebieten (Brockengranit, Rammelsberg) gemessen. Von den untersuchten Quellen besitzt der Hubertusbrunnen bei Thale die mit Abstand hoechsten Radonkonzentrationen von ca. 1000 Bq/l. Ein Zulauf dieses Brunnens ist mit einem Radiumgehalt von 32,0±2,1 Bq/l 226Ra eine der staerksten natuerlichen Radiumquellen Deutschlands. (orig.)Additional details
