Community coordonated research activities in radioecology

Among the domains dealt with in this programme, the 'Behaviour and Monitoring of Radionuclides in the Environment' sector particularly concerns the activities of this Symposium. The normal procedure followed consists in concluding research contracts with National Organizations and Universities (indirect action) studying priority problems and thereby bringing about efficient cooperation between the researchers working on them. These research projects are coordinated so as to avoid useless duplication of work and thereby use the available facilities to the best advantage. Consequently, these work projects stimulate national activities and supplement them in domains of common interest. A brief look at the subjects dealt with within the framework of the present programme, as well as the new orientations given to the 1980-84 suggested programme, will be presented in this paper
