The double-game of the nuclear sector. How nuclear energy contributes to nuclear weapon proliferation

After a brief recall of the consequences of the use of atomic weapons, and having recalled that the IAEA chairman had stated in 2008 that a consequence of nuclear revival would be the dissemination of nuclear materials in much more countries and therefore would increase the risk of their use for nuclear weapons, this publication outlines the relationship between civil and military nuclear sectors regarding the use of nuclear fuel (plutonium production, use of depleted uranium for ammunitions, exploitation of MOX). It also outlines that the NPT is unable to stop nuclear proliferation (statements of the IAEA chairman and the Iranian issue are evoked). It briefly recalls how the different nuclear powers (USA, Russia, France, UK, China, Israel, Pakistan, India, North Korea) acquired the atomic bomb. It focuses on the case of France where nuclear energy is in fact an example of the strong civil-military relationship, and which contributes to nuclear proliferation through the development of its own arsenal and the export of nuclear technologies. It suggests actions to get rid of nuclear weapons, and finally proposes a set of questions and answers about the 'peaceful nuclear'
