Electron beam pulse radiolysis of hydroxysemicarbazide
- 1. China Institute of Atomic Energy, P.O. Box 275(26), Beijing (China)
Description
The kinetics of reactions between hydroxysemicarbazide (HSC) with water-radioactive particles (eaq, · OH and · H) as well as single-electron oxidant · CO3- during pulse radiolysis were studied. The reactions are approximately quasi-first-order reactions, and the reaction rate constants are k (eaq) = 1.41 × 108 L/(mol · s), k (· OH) = 1.05 × 1010 L/(mol · s), k (· H) = 2.68 × 105 L/(mol · s), k (· CO3-) = 4.25 × 108 L/(mol · s), respectively. Among them, the reaction rate constant of HSC and · OH is the largest, so the reaction of HSC and · OH is the main reaction during the pulse radiolysis process. (authors)
