Description
The current response induced by suprathermal Landau absorption in a tokamak plasma is shown to be non-local. The integral kernel describing this effect which is due to the coupling between spatial diffusion and velocity diffusion is calculated. The consequences for the wave driven current profiles and the global current drive efficiency are presented. Extension to electron cyclotron absorption is briefly considered. (author). 19 refs, 1 fig
