Process and installation for restoring a nuclear fuel assembly

The installation aims at restoring a fuel assembly comprising a skeleton made of two ends connected by rods fixed to the ends and of grids arranged between the ends along the rods; the grids maintain the nuclear fuel bundle hold between the ends. The installation comprises a first cell to receive the fuel assembly, a second cell to receive a new skeleton, a repair station including a lift which can receive the two cells set vertically and in a straight line, and bring the cells at a level such as there is still a water layer of protection above the fuel rods, a transfer tool to draw a fuel rod in the skeleton from the assembly contained in the first cell, and means to mount the ends on the skeleton
