Kinetic study on the extraction of uranium (VI) with di(2-ethylhexyl) sulfoxide from nitric acid media

Description
The kinetic study on the extraction of uranium (VI) with di(2-ethylhexyl)sulfoxide from nitric acid media is investigated by using an improved constant interfacial area cell. Results demonstrate that the extraction process is controlled by diffusion under the present experimental conditions. The extraction rate expression obtained is given. The rate constant of Kf is evaluated as 7.9 x 10-2 m·l2.5·s-1·mol-2.5, and the apparent active energy is evaluated as 0.9 kJ·mol-1
