The physics of particle accelerators introduces into the different accelerator types and the components of which, in order to enter then extensively ion optics with magnetic elements and electrostatic lenses. A further main topic is the orbit dynamics of the cyclic accelerators whereby both aspects of the transverse and the longitudinal orbit dynamics are treated intensively. Methods for the injection and extraction as well as beam cooling close the book. Numerous calculated examples in text and exercise problems with solutions serve for the deepening. Die Physik der Teilchenbeschleuniger fuehrt in die verschiedenen Beschleunigertypen und deren Bauelemente ein, um dann ausfuehrlich auf die Ionenoptik mit magnetischen Elementen und elektrostatischen Linsen einzugehen. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ist die Bahndynamik der Kreisbeschleuniger, wobei sowohl Aspekte der transversalen als auch der longitudinalen Bahndynamik eingehend behandelt werden. Methoden zur Injektion und Extraktion sowie zur Strahlkuehlung schliessen das Buch ab. Zahlreiche durchgerechnete Beispiele im Text und Uebungsaufgaben mit Loesungen dienen der Vertiefung. Das Buch ist Einfuehrung und Fachbuch fuer alle, die mit Teilchenbeschleunigern zu tun haben. (orig.)
