Description

This article is a brief review of the state of accelerator technology and construction as it applies to High Energy Physics. It is divided into four parts. First, the author looks at those facilities that are being commissioned, namely, TRISTAN, the SLC, and Tevatron I. Then, he summarizes the facilities that are being built, LEP, HERA, and UNK, followed by those that are in the proposal stage, the SSC, LHC, and RHIC. Finally he comments on the future and the great interest in linear colliders as a subject of advanced accelerator R and D
